THOUGHTS FROM VOTERS
Equipment & Fuel
“We have watched our farm delivered fuel increase in price over the last year which in turn also has increased our feed prices since we purchase our grain from a local Farm Coop, which has also incurred fuel increases for their feed deliveries. We really feel it during our hay season where we go through a lot of fuel.”
“Equipment costs for fuel, repairs, depreciation and interest are high and getting higher. We run a cow/calf operation and do custom hay work whichrequires a lot of expensive equipment, a lot of fuel and necessary repairs and maintenance. At this time cattle prices are at all time highs which helps with overhead costs but it has been my experience that costs don’t ever decrease significantly after going up. Cattle prices will decrease again when herd expansion returns and equipment and fuel costs won’t decrease. My question is who has bought a new truck that was cheaper than the one you bought 5 years ago?”
“Land in the area has approached the ridiculous ”
Labor
“Getting older need more help and rising hourly wage mainly over time”
